Overview
Sony AI is hiring a Research Intern on the AI Ethics team for a 3-month remote USA internship — conducting publishable research on generative AI safety, including data collection, guardrails, evaluation, and benchmarking for ethical challenges at global entertainment scale.
You'll work with experienced researchers on bias, privacy, copyright, and transparency in NLP and computer vision — with active support for co-authoring papers and submitting to top-tier venues. Sony AI partners with PlayStation, Sony Pictures, and Sony Music across 900M+ devices worldwide.
Key Requirements & Critical Rules
- Location: USA remote — Sony AI America is distributed across U.S. and Canada.

- Degree: Pursuing degree (PhD preferred) in CS or socio-technical AI topics.
- AI skills: Strong foundations in ML for NLP or computer vision; generative AI evaluation, benchmarking, red-teaming, or guardrail development.
- Tools: Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers for developing, fine-tuning, or evaluating generative models.
