Overview
WorldQuant develops and deploys systematic financial strategies worldwide. Technologists research, design, code, test, and deploy firmwide platforms and tooling alongside researchers and portfolio managers.
As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll join a team building high-performance, mission-critical systems — applications that support investment/trading processes, or core infrastructure for large-scale data processing, distributed computation, and automation. The work rewards people who think in code and understand computers at a low level.
Key Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing CS, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar — strong academic performance.
- Skills: Strong programming in one or more OO languages (e.g. C++, Python); solid software development principles; excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Achievement: Evidence of high achievement (awards, Olympiads, notable projects, or other excellence).
- Mindset: Mature, collaborative working style; self-motivated; asks thoughtful questions and drives work to high standards.
- Plus: Interest in finance, quantitative trading, or financial data.
- What you’ll do: Design/build/maintain high-performance components; develop scaled data pipelines and distributed systems; collaborate with researchers/engineers; contribute to reviews, testing, monitoring, and performance/reliability improvements.
